Admission and Enrollment Overview
A Catholic education is one of the best gifts a parent can give their children. Our parish school was established to provide for this important mission of Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church. At our parish school, your child will not only receive an outstanding academic education, but more importantly, they will learn about their Catholic faith daily, pray often, practice self-discipline, and learn to put others’ needs before their own. In short, we will assist you in forming your child to be a Christian disciple of Jesus Christ. It is through the faithful stewardship of all our parishioners that we are able to provide an excellent Catholic school. Stewardship is the grateful response of a Christian disciple who recognizes and receives God’s gifts and shares these gifts in love of God and neighbor. As stewards we recognize everything we have and all that we are is a gift from God. We respond to that gift by giving our first fruits in:
- Spending time with God in prayer – individually, communally and as a family
- Participation in the life and mission of the parish and community by sharing our God-given talents
- Giving of financial treasures – sacrificially, proportionally and generously
Enrolling your children in a Catholic school is a partnership among the family, the parish, and the school. A Catholic school education is a privilege, and not a right. For parishioners who have a history of stewardship and who complete and fulfill their annual stewardship commitments, our pastor will make a good faith effort to provide for their children’s Catholic education. Specifically, what is expected of all of the families in our parish is to:
- Attend Sunday Mass and Holy Days of Obligation at St. Mary’s
- Participate in the sacraments
- Actively participate in parish ministries
- Make and keep a good faith pledge of treasure, with a goal of 8% of your gross income to the parish and 2% to your favorite charities
Newly registered parishioners wishing to enroll their children at St. Mary’s Catholic School under the stewardship model need to provide a history of active stewardship, as outlined in a letter from their previous Pastor, in addition to the above requirements. Non-parishioner families who are active members at a Catholic Church without a school must also adhere to the guidelines above for admission. We also welcome the opportunity to partner with non-parishioner families who practice a faith other than Catholicism. The admission of students from such families is contingent upon the way the parents practice their faith and how they provide examples of stewardship, respect, reverence, and responsibility to their children. Non-Catholic families wishing to attend St. Mary’s must adhere to the rules outlined in, and sign a, Parish/School/Family Agreement and, an Admission/Tuition Agreement must be signed. Non-Catholic students pay a standard tuition rate to attend St. Mary’s. Please contact the school office if you are interested in enrolling your child as a student.
