I am seeking more guidance from the diocese, as more information will be coming to school principals soon. May the Holy Spirit guide all of us, especially our leaders, and grant us wisdom and prudence as we make decisions about what is best for our kids.
Enrollment for the 2020-2021 school year will be Friday, July 31 from 8AM-3PM at the school. More info regarding procedures to be followed that day will be sent soon via email.
The first day of school is set for Thursday, August 13. The first two days- August 13 and August 14- will be half days.
We are currently waiting for finalization of the USD 234 calendar, as well as final guidance from KSDE and the Diocese of Wichita before we can begin communicating established plans for the 20-21 school year. What we can tell you right now is that our students WILL be in school all day, every day to begin the school year. God willing, that will hold fast for the entire year!
While we have been provided with a look at the rough draft of the diocese's guidance, the FINAL version will be delivered to principals on July 17. After that, substantial information will be delivered to parents via email no later than Monday, July 20.
Thank you so much for your patience. Pray, pray, pray for an end to this pestilence and a return to a healthy, normal routine for our children and our families. God Bless Us All!
This years Mega-Sale benefits St. Mary's Catholic School in our initiative to add 6th grade for the 2020-2021 school year. There are a lot of great things that are for sale this year. Please stop by and take a look!
Today is also the last day to donate to the sale- you can take items to JFK gym from 10am-3pm and from 5-7pm today.
A HUGE THANK-YOU goes out to Margaret Kerr, Lori Guilfoyle, and all those that have helped with the sale up to this point. We are so blessed to have such supportive parishioners and school families!
Our 2nd graders received the sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Communion for the first time last weekend. We are so proud of them, and overjoyed for their families. Deo Gratias!!!
Our teachers got together and provided all of the items that went into the “Movie Treat Sacks” that students earned through the Reading Challenge. Please join me in thanking them for their generosity. Our teachers are INCREDIBLE, both in terms of their pedagogical ability AND in their LOVE FOR OUR KIDS! Thank you St Mary’s teachers!! #TeacherAppreciationWeek
St Mary's Catholic School Parents- Expect to receive some text messages (via text-caster) and emails tomorrow as we roll out our "Continuation of Learning" plan for students. Our teachers have worked SO hard this week on plans and lessons. WE MISS THE KIDS SO MUCH!! We hope all of our families are hanging tough through this crisis. God Bless and Protect Us All.
St Mary's Catholic School Parents- Jana Walker is collecting the OLD STYLE (Dickies) shirts and possibly pants/skirts in order to make a quilt for a future Gala auction item. Please contact Jana or the school if you would like to donate shirts or pants/skirts.
St Mary's Catholic School Parents- Please complete this survey ONLY ONCE, either on your phone through the link provided in the TextCaster, or here. Please understand that we realize our "littles" will be limited in terms of what they can do electronically... but we need to see if they can at least watch teacher-created videos. Please list an email address that you check regularly, and that we can use to provide your family with information. Thank you so much for your help.
WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER, WITH THE SINGLE-MINDED FOCUS OF DOING OUR VERY BEST FOR OUR KIDS, BOTH SPIRITUALLY AND ACADEMICALLY! With the help of God our Father, Jesus Christ our Saviour, and the Holy Spirit, we will get through this! We value our partnership with you, the parents, in this challenge. May God Bless us all!
