THANK YOU to all the volunteers who helped us sort and load trash bags last Sunday!! And THANK YOU to all families who did their best in selling them. The fundraiser was a huge success. Our school families are amazing!
St. Padre Pio is a dear friend of Jesus, as evidenced by the stigmata that he bore for fifty years. He is a powerful intercessor, and an incredible inspiration. As St. Pio said, "Pray, Hope, and Don't Worry." His feast day is on the 9th day of this Novena, next Wednesday Sept. 23.
Lunch outside today! Thank you to the Butcher Block for providing delicious and nutritious lunches for us! The kids loved it!
Mrs. Russell worked so hard in the weeks leading up to school to create a classroom space in our gymnasium that would be roomy enough to safely accomodate our 3rd/4th grades, but also have the feel of a classroom. She nailed it! Thank you for all your hard work Mrs. Russell!
We also want to send a HUGE THANK-YOU to Win-Vent Architectural Windows Company for building us these temporary classroom walls with Dry-Erase Surfaces!! They saved us so much money by taking care of this need for us!!
Our theme for the 2020-2021 school year at St Mary’s Catholic School is “Be Not Afraid.”
Check out this amazing video made by Catholic artists!
St Mary's Catholic School is still seeking picnic tables to borrow for the Fall, in order to create outdoor classroom space for students. Please contact the school at 620-223-6060 if you have a picnic table that we can borrow. You are welcome to drop them off, or we are glad to come pick them up. THANKS SO MUCH!!
I am seeking more guidance from the diocese, as more information will be coming to school principals soon. May the Holy Spirit guide all of us, especially our leaders, and grant us wisdom and prudence as we make decisions about what is best for our kids.
Enrollment for the 2020-2021 school year will be Friday, July 31 from 8AM-3PM at the school. More info regarding procedures to be followed that day will be sent soon via email.
The first day of school is set for Thursday, August 13. The first two days- August 13 and August 14- will be half days.
We are currently waiting for finalization of the USD 234 calendar, as well as final guidance from KSDE and the Diocese of Wichita before we can begin communicating established plans for the 20-21 school year. What we can tell you right now is that our students WILL be in school all day, every day to begin the school year. God willing, that will hold fast for the entire year!
While we have been provided with a look at the rough draft of the diocese's guidance, the FINAL version will be delivered to principals on July 17. After that, substantial information will be delivered to parents via email no later than Monday, July 20.
Thank you so much for your patience. Pray, pray, pray for an end to this pestilence and a return to a healthy, normal routine for our children and our families. God Bless Us All!
